Trae, his partner DJ Mr. Rogers, and The Relief Gang team partnered with Josh Hansen of MotoCross, Livin100 and Nut Up Industries to take 60 families affected by the damage of last year’s devastating hurricane to Saturday’s Supercross Event. During Josh Hansen’s interview with FOX Sports, he talked about Relief Gang’s efforts after hurricane Harvey impacted so many Texas residents. “I saw what Trae was doing, and I told him, hey I want to be a part [of this] however I can.”
Gerald Green, recently returning to the team, spent time with Trae Tha Truth, DJ Mr. Rogers and The Relief Gang to lend a hand to their relief efforts, becoming the latest celebrity to join the Relief Gang. Trae also spent some extra time perfecting his signature 1-hand jump shot with the Houston Rocket’s guard for Sunday’s Game against the Phoenix Suns where Trae will shoot a 3-pointer for charity.
This past Martin Luther King Day, Trae had the pleasure of serving as Co-Grand Marshall of the Nation’s 4th Largest MLK Celebration with Houston native and former Heavyweight Boxing Champion of the World, George Foreman because of the work Trae has done in Houston.
As the dust and debris from Hurricane Harvey settled, Relief Gang was contacted about a historic church severely damaged by the storm. Trae was informed this was the last place where the slain civil rights legend Martin Luther King Jr, delivered his last message within the city of Houston. “The church was in pretty bad shape – the floors, the walls, the ceiling, Rogers and I decided we had to do something to preserve this piece of history.”
